Chris Bégot is a musician and conservatory-graduate duduk player,
specialized in the music of Armenia and the Caucasus.
He became familiar with traditional instruments
as a dancer at an Armenian dance academy.
Spotted by a teacher, he had him join the
conservatory in Valence-Romans for nine years.
During this time, he earned the three diplomas of the diploma program:
BEM (Brevet d'Études Musicales)
CEM (Certificat d'Études Musicales)
DEM (Diplôme d'Études Musicales) the highest professional
distinction awarded by conservatories for musicians.
After training in France and Armenia with skilled musicians, he is
the first Frenchman to earn his conservatory diploma in the duduk.
As part of his learning journey, he regularly explores Armenia
and immerses himself in the country's inspirational subtleties,
meeting luthiers and training with great master musicians such
as Gevorg Dabaghyan, Vahan Harutyunyan, and Vardan Grigoryan...
With a vocation for sharing and transmission, he plans to expand the
learning of the Duduk to a wider audience with new pedagogy and methods.
He then created group classes in September 2022, the first in Valence,
Drôme, and the second in Lyon during the 2023 academic year,
and also gives private lessons throughout France and internationally.
Having founded his own musical group, "Les Vents d'Arménie", he expresses
his music in his own style, blending Eastern and Western influences,
and also performs as a guest artist with other traditional music groups.
Today, Chris Bégot is studying advanced teaching and artistic practice at
a Lyon university center, earning a DE (State Diploma) as a music teacher.
This is the first time for Doudouk.
