Ivane Mkrtchyan was born on October 25, 1980
in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia.
From 1987 to 1996, he studied at Tbilisi High School No. 116.
Since childhood, he is interested in national songs and dances.
From 1997 to 1999, he worked as a duduk player in the
Armenian song and dance "Hayk" ensemble in Tbilisi.
He toured with this ensemble in
Greece, Bulgaria, and France.
In 2011, the "Hayartun" Educational, Cultural, and Youth Center
of the Armenian Diocese of Georgia opened in Tbilisi.
This center included a kindergarten, a Sunday school, and a choir.
Since 2012, ensembles of folk musical instruments
of duduk and dhol have been created.
Since then, he works at the Hayartun Center as a duduk teacher.
He has participated and continues to participate with his
students in various events and festivals in Georgia and Armenia,
as well as in the annual "Vardaton" of Sayat Nova in Tbilisi.
In 2019, the "Nicolas Jaar & Group" ensemble, composed of musicians
from different countries, toured Italy, the Netherlands, and Australia.
He toured with this ensemble as a duduk player.
In 2024, French musician Zoe Perret founded the ensemble
"Dasta Avala" in Tbilisi, in which he also performed.
From 2024 to 2012, concerts were held in Tbilisi and France.
In 2025, the music and singing ensemble "Hayartun" participated
under his direction in the "People's Singer" project of
Georgia's Channel 1, reaching the semi-finals.
He is married and has one daughter.
